Garden & Reduce School Waste/Compost Committee

Works with CitySprouts to engage students and families with the garden.

Garden Committee
Coordinator: Kris Dickson
CitySprouts Coordinator: Karl Koch

The Garden Committee at G&P sees our garden as a little piece of the natural world tucked in among the brick walls – a hidden gem! We feel that exposure to this world is vital to a child's education. For our school community, working to grow healthy plants – including food – teaches us lots of interesting and essential lessons, and brings a sense of reward along with some messy fun. The Garden Committee at G&P supports the efforts of the CitySprouts Program in the courtyard, linking curricular content areas with garden experiences. The Garden Committee also works with classrooms to maintain the Walker St and Avon St garden beds, providing G&P children with that extra outdoor time while they explore and learn about all that a garden can provide. We are always looking for volunteers to help us maintain and keep our gardens beautiful. Please contact us if you are interested in helping in the gardens.

Reduce School Waste/Compost Committee
The committee monitors the school lunch composting program and thinks of other ways to reduce waste at school.
