It has been a wonderful, strong, and exciting start to our Third Grade Year! The scholars have been developing community with each other and understanding their own identity. We have already been learning and doing so much! In Math, we have been exploring and developing our understanding of addition, subtraction, and multiplication. We have been learning many different strategies so we can find what works best for our brain! In Science, we have been studying Weather and Climate. We have explored weather patterns, climate data, making observations, researching animals, and even creating/performing a skit involving Cambridge animals (you can see a few masks the scholars created below) and how they are affected by the winter climate!
In Reading, we have been building our skills and stamina by reading narrative and informational texts. We have been identifying the gist, lesson/message, and details of the books we read. In Writing, we have been working on our paragraph writing and elaborating on our ideas with details, descriptions, examples, and connections. Writing is an incredible way to communicate our amazing ideas! We can’t wait to continue our year together!
