Changemaker Assembly: We Stand For…

signsDuring February's all-school morning meeting, our monthly assembly, we talked about why it's important to honor changemakers like Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, Rosa Parks, and Saundra Graham. Learning about changemakers throughout the school year helps us remember that individuals can create extraordinary change in the world, especially when they are part of a movement of people all working together. We can best honor their work by following their example and lifting up our voices and standing up for change.

Each classroom came to the assembly prepared to share a "We Stand for..." statement. Here they are below!

We stand for Equity.
We stand for Kindness.
We stand for Love and Friendship.
We stand for Friendship.
We stand for Peace and Freedom for All.
We stand for Love.
We stand for Black Lives Matter.
We stand for Not Hurting Animals so animals don’t go extinct!
We stand for Love.
We stand for We Welcome You.
We stand for Education. Knowledge is power!
We stand for “Power for the People”.
We stand for Life and Independence.
We stand for Peace and Love.
We stand for Aim High - make mistakes, they make your brain grow.
We stand for Working Together.
We stand for Black Lives Matter.
We stand for Everyone’s Voices Being Heard.
