rapStudents in Room 225 have been learning about the Declaration of Independence in their studies about the American Revolution. They collaborated with their peers to write a Declaration Rap, incorporating their knowledge of the events leading up to the Revolution. Students designed a placard depicting the events and performed their raps for the grade three students.

workshopGrade 3 parents joined math coach Claire after the family breakfast to learn some tips for helping their students master their multiplication facts!

all-stateThe following students were accepted into the 2016 MMEA All-State Treble Chorus: Jamey DeSola, Gita Drummond, Oliver Leek. They will perform at the Seaport Hotel in Boston on March 12. Congratulations to them!

geoDuring a study of lines, angles, and two-dimensional geometry, third graders in Room 213 worked on an interdisciplinary math, writing, and art project. Students began by drawing "Geocreatures" using different types of lines, angles, and polygons. Next they wrote a detailed description of their Geocreatures using geometry vocabulary and sensory language. Each student then exchanged his or her description with a classmate and attempted to recreate the Geocreature based solely on the peer's written description, without being able to see the original picture. The results were beautiful and mathematical!

magicianRoom 221 (4th grade S.E.I.) celebrates birthdays once a month. This year our monthly birthday celebrations are a bit more exciting. Sergey Koenig brought his magic kit and performed a few tricks for the class. He asked children celebrating their birthday to be his assistants. The entire class was amazed by his fantastic magic and commanding performance. What a creative way to practice speaking in English!
