Friends of Graham & Parks:

Community Events and Fundraising Update

Friends of Graham and Parks is a group of parents who come together to raise money and organize community events to support the educational initiatives of our school. We would like to have the benefit of your ideas and your help, so please consider coming to our meetings. The next meeting is Tuesday, February 10 after drop-off in the lobby (or the nurses suite if the lobby is too cold).

Our Annual Fund is off to a strong start thanks to all your generous donations, but we still need many contributions if we are going to reach our goal of allotting the teachers $20 per student next year. The teachers use this money to support classroom projects, unit studies, or field trips. Please remember that your kids are benefiting this year from the money we raised last year — even if you are only planning to be at G&P for a short time please consider paying forward your child's share, if you are able to. Donations can be left in the Friends of G&P mailbox in the main office (there are also remittance envelopes there) and if you would like to make a donation by credit card, we can take it in person. Please contact Liza Tague at for more information. You can also contact Liza if you want to buy G&P t-shirts or magnets.

New England Winter Family Night! Join us Friday, February 6, 5:30-7:30 PM. Come and mingle with other G&P families while sipping hot cocoa, joining a game, making a craft or listening to a winter tale. See you in the cafeteria! Please note we will only be serving hot cocoa and cookies. All children must be accompanied by an adult. Sponsored by Friends of G&P.

Family Movie Night is Friday, February 27 at 5:30 PM (movie starts at 6 PM)! We will be showing an animated movie about a master criminal who dreams of stealing the moon and is helped in his endeavors by three orphans, a nutty scientist, and millions of little yellow characters. Pizza, popcorn and treats will be available for sale. The event is free with a suggested contribution of $5 for those who are able. Kids are invited to wear pjs and bring stuffed animals. Please bring your own blankets/pillows to sit on. While the movie is rated PG, Common Sense Media rates it as appropriate for 6 years old and their parents and kid ratings put it as appropriate for 5 years old and up.

Our annual Staff Appreciation Lunch is scheduled for Wednesday, March 25. This is a great event that our educators and staff love as we set up a big buffet lunch in the front hall. We will let each class know what we need them to bring and we will also need volunteers — we hope you will join us if you can. It is a fun event full of parents, teachers, and lots of good will.
